July 19, Mon Depart from Los Angeles on Japan Airlines, time to be announced, via
Tokyo (Narita) or Osaka. Lose one day when crossing the International
Dateline. Overnight at Nikko Hotel in the airport area. Arrival in Bali, Transfer to Flower Mountain or alternate accommodation. July 22, Thu Begin orientation, mini-tour of Flower Mountain facilities, meet the teachers and learn about their offerings, then take a trip up to Mount Batur, returning via Ubud village, with dinner at a local restaurant. Participants who were unable to attend the orientation leave from Los Angeles. July 23, Fri Continue orientation program at Flower Mountain, guided tour at Neka Art Museum in Ubud. Dinner and evening performance in town. July 24, Sat Optional trip to East Bali (Gianyar, Klungkung, and Tenganan) with an optional overnight at a Candi Dasa beach hotel. Second group of participants arrives in the evening. July 25, Sun Free day, or continue tour in East Bali, returning through mountain villages and spectacular secenery. July 26-30, Mon-Fri Regular classes get under way at Flower Mountain. July 31, Sat Free day. Participants are encouraged to get out on their own and experience Bali. August 1, Sun Free day. Payangan Festival opening ceremony in late afternoon, followed by performances. August 2-6, Mon-Fri Second full week of classes. Payangan Festival continues, with nightly performances in the village. August 7-8, Sat-Sun All -day World Music and Dance performances to end the Payangan Festival. August 9, Mon Those not participating in the Java Tour depart for the United States in the evening. Day room in Japan on the way back. Arrival in Los Angeles on Tuesday morning, August 10. Optional tour departs for Central Java, with visits to Borobudur, Prambanan and other monuments, a royal dinner and command performance at the Mangkunegaran Palace. August 15, Sun Java Tour group returns to Bali. Those departing for the United States
will make a direct connection with the Japan Airlines flight. Those
opting to stay on in Bali will be dropped off at their hotels. Top of Page
