During the spring of 2000r, as part of the Center for World Music's "World Music in the Schools" program, students at The Museum School in San Diego, CA, xperienced a comprehensive program on the arts and culture of Bali.  Classes were held four days a week, conducted by the Center's Year 2000 Artists in Residence, I Nyoman Sumandhi and Ni Putu Sutiati, with the assistance of Robert E. Brown, Center president, Alex Khalil, and Kaori Okado.  The program culminated in an "Odalan" or Balinese arts festival on March 24, 2000.
