Recent Concerts

The Patnaik Sisters Concert for

The Patnaik sisters--Laboni, Shibani, and Shalini--will perform Odissi, the classical, lyrical, and beautifully costumed temple dance form of east India. The Patnaiks have performed widely, both nationally and internationally. Recently, they performed with Madonna for the 1998 MTV Music Video Award ceremony.

Proceeds will be donated to aid the many victims of the recent powerful cyclone in Orissa, India, as a result of which thousands have died or been stricken with disease and millions have been rendered homeless. One of the most catastrophic natural disasters to befall India in all of its history, it has caused widespread destruction, especially in villages, and damaged the entire infrastructure of the state

Admission: $20.  Larger contributions welcomed. Seating in Erickson Hall is limited.

Directions: Erickson Hall is located in the Mandeville Center, UCSD.  Enter by John Muir Drive from N. Torrey Pines Road.
