Born in Switzerland, Marco
Liendhard joined the world renowned taiko group Ondekoza after
an exchange year in Japan. Since 1981, he has studied taiko drumming,
festival fue, flute, and folk dancing with Ondekoza and other festival
taiko groups. He has also studied the nohkan with Master Isso Masayuki,
the shakuhachi with Master Teruo Furuya and later with the internationally
known Master Katsuya Yokoyama.
Lienhard has been performing taiko, the shakuhachi and the fue
as a member of Ondekoza for 13 years. He has performed in the world's
major halls, including three times at Carnegie Hall ('90, '93, and
'94). He recently appeared in the New York City Opera production
of Toshiro Mayazumi's "Kinkakuji."

*Take Encinitas Blvd. exit from I-5 and head east for 3
to 4 miles. At Rancho Santa Fe/Manchester intersection, make
a left and proceed about 3/4 of a mile on Rancho Santa Fe Rd.
Make another left on 9th Street. The house is the 4th house
on the left side.
